Be able to list sample composers and their dates from both Eras. Know to which musical era each composer belongs. 4. Define Leitmotif, symphony, programmatic music, minimalism. 5. Define Nationalism. List sample pieces and their composers and be able to explain how each is an example of musical nationalism. 6. Review the lecture on the horn. 7. What are the movement titles of Beethoven's 6th symphony? What is the nickname of the symphony? Explain how it is an example of Romantic music. 8. Why is Beethoven important in the history of music?
